The thrill of victory…

And the agony of de feet

I’m sorry, I couldn’t resist. In all serious, it took real grit for Mathieu to win today. After all he has been through with injury, it’s hard not to be happy for him. Huge win and well deserved. And who would have though that Haas would make it to a 3rd round in a slam, especially over a solid player like Staks?

As for you, kiddo. What do you mean you don’t have a lot of confidence?! You are Clay GOAT! You beat Fed and Tsonga, and you can’t handle a guy ranked 261 in the world!

And 5 set marathons against French guys? You totally know how to win those. And you had a wide open quarter against a gimpy Murray! What happened?! Harumph!

French Open 2012 Suicide Pool: Day 4

We are already down to the wire in Suicide Pool. Not our best showing ya’all ;) But for the two or so of you who are left, check out the order of play for day 4 here and enter your pick in the comments section below.

Welcome Back!

Paul-Henri Mathieu! It has been far too long since he has was won a match, and he did it in style, coming back from two sets down to win 2-6, 4-6, 6-4, 6-3, 6-0 over Bjorn Phau.

The Frenchie luck continued, with Arnaut Clement notching a 5 set win of his own over Bogolomov. I have missed his bandana fashions.

But you, why don’t you go away? Far, far away

Decisions…

Are not his strong suit. Seriously, what is this?

Knew. It.

Deep down, I kind of knew that Fed was going to end Nole’s streak. The beginning of Nole’s greatness started with his win over Roger in the US Open Semifinal. It was only fitting that it end in yet another slam final. I mean really, was Fed going to let Nole get the number 1 ranking with a win over him? OVER HIS DEAD BODY!

Though I do have admit, I was not exactly looking forward to yet another Rafole final either. It is not just that the novelty had worn off. There was just such a lack of Drama. Rome final? YAWN! And this is coming from a major fan of both Rafa and Nole. This time last year was exciting because Rafa was finally healthy and lethal. Watching him dominate was jus joyful. But then he kept winning. Wimbledon? Awesome. But by the US Open, truth be told, I was kind of bored with Rafa winning. I think it helped make Novak 2.0 this year extra sweet. Having the same guy on top in every slam…it just ain’t that compelling. I think I have realized that this is where my Federer dislike stems from: all those years of GOATiness.

So I guess we should be thankful that The Streak has ended. Novak lost before he could start to bore us with his dominance. And now there are all sorts of fun questions: how will he do on grass? Was it just one inevitable loss, or will his confidence be irredeemably shattered? See, DRAMAZ!

As for tomorrow’s Fedal final, I’m conflicted. I want Rafa to win, but I want Nole to be number one. I don’t want Fed to win, but I want Nole to be number one, etc, etc, etc. As for the actual tennis that will be played…

Yeah, I’m with these guys. I do not know who will win, but I’m thinking a straight sets win for either Nadal or Federer. A “classic” this will not be. Let’s hope I’m wrong.

But regardless of who wins, the best news of all? GRASS STARTS ON MONDAY!!! YIPPEE!!!!

Ankle Boy Rolls On

Despite a chipped tooth, a crunchy ankle, a plethora of happy pills, and a less-than-stellar post Australian Open match record (What up, DY!), Andy Murray has made it to the semifinals of Roland Garros. I would congratulate him, but since he is jeopardizing his entire grass season (heh, “season”) by playing with a tear in his ankle, I’ll refrain. I mean, what’s the point of this? To prove that he’s tough? Does he really think he can beat this guy being less than 100%?

Yeah…you know, it is times like these that I am thankful that I am NOT a Murray fan., cause damn, is he infuriating.

And speaking of infuriating, please please please please please please do not let Fed win tomorrow, Grilled Cheesus. Not just because I want Djokovic to be number one (which I do), but beating super Nole and *gasp* winning a slam after everyone has written him off might turn Federror back into GOAT. DO NOT WANT!

I much prefer Fed broken and vulnerable. Because I can’t hate him when he is pathetic and losing. Please, don’t make me a hater, tennis gods!

Baby Dino! (Video)

Let’s be real, Jo could be saying the most boring, obnoxious, or otherwise offensive shit, but it would be totally hot as long as it was in French. Yep, that shallow…

Awkward…

There are many great pictures from Roland Garros. Awesome shot making, emotional celebrations, memorable moments. And then, there are the photos that are, um, none of these…

That looks painful. And gravity defying

WAIT, BALL! WAIT FOR ME!!!

The shots before or after this I’m sure are fine, but this is a prime example of when shirt changes are not hot. And not because it’s Jurgen. On or off, please

Gives a whole new meaning to face shot. Poor Ferru

Most of the time, sweaty, shirtless Rafa is hot. This is not one of those times

Eyebrows is nothing if not CLASSY!

This one is actually not awkward at all, just a visual balm for your poor eyes after the last one

KISS HIM!!!
